Upset, disgusted, and irate about the loss of his job, Barry McDermott quickly realizes that one hasty decision has set into motion a horrendous life threatening chain of events.
'The Last Four Days' is a short story about the chilling abduction of a young man that takes place in the deep south, and the challenges that he faces throughout his gruesome ordeal.
Things seem to always get worse, as this occasionally comic, hard hitting nightmare unfolds.

The Last Four Days edition by Paul Neal Literature Fiction eBooks

This is an extremely captivating story from a new writer. The story opens as an evening winds down. Gradually you realize there is a back-story with which has left collateral damage and suspicion verging on paranoia, however, you have no idea of the wild roller coaster ride that awaits you. The tension crescendos and then is held taunt through out as the narrative progresses. The careful detail to description and dialogue give you a window into a different and scary world, that likely does exist . Those visceral fears you have kept buried in some back corner of your mind escape. If you are familiar with John Fowles', The Collector and/or James Dickey's, Deliverance will feel the reverberations. The resolution is original and imaginative. This is a very worthwhile read and not quickly forgotten.

The Last Four Days edition by Paul Neal Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This author has done a good job portraying the real grit and pain involved in human trafficking. Its location in the South, and not some foreign country, brings home that this can happen anyway. Well done!
Easy read that I could not put down. True example of what goes out comes back around. Look forward to another by the author.
I really enjoyed this story. It had a good pace to it, never bogged down or got too predictable. Well written, the author painted a great picture every step of the way. Loved it!
Exciting action. This story was very written very well. It kept me on the edge of my seat anticipating every next word. Really enjoyed it.
This writer is on his way to greatness. I couldn't put the book down until the end. It was full of suspense and not too bloody. I particularly liked the end at the hospital or what I thought was the end. Very descriptive where you feel right there on each page. Cant wait to see what's next
So realistic and detailed, the story flows along quickly building suspense through colorful language, satire, and descriptive action scenes, made me wonder if the author had lived this story. Open borders guarantees more opportunities like this in our grandchildren's' society together with this author's edgy writing stye could make him a famous popular writer one day.
Just when you think people can't get any nastier, along comes a book like this to show you otherwise. Not for the squeamish or the paranoid. But if you dare...well worth the read.
